Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of EventLex. By creating an account, buying a ticket, or publishing an event you agree to them.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using EventLex you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Who we are
EventLex operates an online marketplace that lets organizers publish events and sell tickets, and lets attendees discover and buy them. We are a platform and payment facilitator. We are not the organizer, promoter or producer of any event listed unless expressly stated.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or make a purchase. Accounts must contain accurate information and may not be shared or transferred.
Tickets & purchases
A ticket is a limited, revocable licence to attend the event it names, subject to the organizer's own terms and any venue rules. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable fees before you confirm payment. Your order is confirmed only when payment is successfully authorised and you receive a confirmation and ticket.
The organizer is your counterparty
The contract to attend an event is between you and the organizer. EventLex facilitates discovery, ticketing and payment. Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, delivering the advertised experience, honouring valid tickets, admission and safety at the venue, and complying with applicable laws and tax obligations.
Refunds & cancellations
Refund eligibility is set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: where an organizer cancels an event, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price. Where you simply change your mind, refunds are available only if the organizer has enabled them and you are within the stated window.
Resale
Tickets may be resold only through the official resale feature where the organizer has enabled it, and are capped at face value. Touting, scalping or listing EventLex tickets on third-party resale sites is prohibited and may void the ticket.
Wallet & payouts
Wallet balances reflect verified transactions recorded in our double-entry ledger. Organizer payouts are made to verified bank accounts, subject to identity verification (KYC/KYB), anti-fraud checks, and any hold period stated at the time of sale. We may withhold or reverse a payout where we reasonably suspect fraud, chargebacks, or a breach of these terms.
Fees
EventLex charges a service fee on ticket sales and may charge payment processing fees. Current fees are shown to organizers before an event is published and to attendees before payment. We may change fees on reasonable notice; changes do not affect tickets already sold.
Acceptable use
You may not use EventLex for fraudulent, illegal, misleading or abusive activity; to list events you are not authorised to run; to infringe intellectual property; to scrape or overload the platform; or to harass other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this clause.
Content you post
You keep ownership of the content you upload. You grant EventLex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and promote that content for the purpose of operating and marketing the platform. You are responsible for having the rights to everything you upload.
Suspension & termination
You may close your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, suspected fraud, or where required by law. Closing an account does not cancel obligations already incurred, such as delivering events already sold.
Limitation of liability
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, EventLex is not liable for the conduct of organizers or attendees, for events cancelled, rescheduled or changed by organizers, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts. Nothing here removes any statutory right you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-app notice before they take effect. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
Your data, your control
You can download everything we hold about you, or permanently delete your account, at any time from your profile settings.
